Irrigation in the Pacific Northwest

About Us

Bringing our best to you

Extension education is Washington State University’s way to connect with growers and the general public.  With nearly 500 acres dedicated to original research in Prosser, WA, the Irrigated Agriculture and Extension Center (IAREC) is where the issues of greatest concern to Columbia River growers are investigated. Here, innovative methods and new irrigation systems are given trials and evaluations.

Our cooperative programs promote two-way learning, for both the researchers and the end-users. Partnerships enable the development or assessment of new techniques and technology in the context of real farm operations, with the ultimate goal of improving yields while conserving water and controlling costs.
